What’s gone wrong in this world when men think it’s ok to strike a woman?

I couldn’t just stand by, so I yelled at him from across the mall, “Dude! She said leave her alone!” Of course, this caused him to turn and bow up at me. It took everything Martha had to hold me back. The woman took the opportunity of the distraction and made a break for it… as fast as her 4″ heels would let her. The punk made a brief detour down another hall before following the woman into the parking lot. Martha & I followed, mostly because I was afraid he might attack her (he was holding his hand under his shirt like he had a weapon). Just before we got to the parking lot, I saw a security guard and quickly told him the situation. He called it in to his dispatch and I left it at that, saying a prayer for this woman’s safety as we went our way.
for this woman’s safety…
Then, this week, a video of former FSU quarterback punching a woman in the face got released. Punching a woman in the face! What!!!!? I don’t care if she called him a Pharisee or any other name. It’s no excuse. He claims she kneed him in the groin. I would have kneed him in the groin too if I were her and he had his hands all over me like he did her!
I don’t care if she called him a Pharisee or any other name. It’s no excuse.
Men, there’s no excuse to strike a woman.
I don’t care what she calls you or even if she hits you first.
Be a man! Walk away.
I think part of this escalating problem is the disrespect we see for women, especially in pop music recently. Artists like 2-Live Crew, Pitbull, and even the catchy “Blurred Lines” Robin Thicke are degrading women to sexual, mindless objects. Even female artists are degrading themselves! They claim it’s empowering, but tell me what’s so empowering about being objectified and blackout drunk!
Women, don’t stand for a man who doesn’t treat you like a princess.
You are a princess!
You are a child of the King.
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
